Scenes of old wars
Improved battle plans
Built on the ashes
Of failed campaigns
Lonliness reaching
Inspite of itself
Remembering motions
Of lives in the past
"Instinct" is arguing
Boot strap qualification
Sweating desperation
Turning blue in the face
Cold steel cage
Smiling ice
Nodding and using
Mechanics to advantage
A face on a flag
Symbolism, majority appeal
Flapping in winds
That could tear it apart
Brutality and frailty
Harsh winter, warm fronts
Open an eye
That could shelter anything
