False Father

Contributed by Shattered_Angel on Monday, 30th December 2002 @ 07:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Can I say it's my fault
Should I say I did wrong
People say it wasn't me
So where does fault belong?

I know they say it's you
A no-body, to pay no heed!
Well, where did you go
In my time of need?

You weren't there to see me
Grow to who I am
You never asked about me
You didn't give a damn.

Now you say you miss me
With a fake tear in your eye
I tried but I still hate you
That I can't deny.

Why are you this way
Why couldn't I call you father?
How come you care now
But before didn't even bother?

So how am I to feel
Should I hate you as I do?
How am I supposed to care
Tell me, how can I love you?

Very good way to get it out of your system.
I can relate but not personnaly. My children's father was never there for them.
My father was always there for me but he passed on six years ago next month.
Still I've dealt with my three children that are grown now.
I can never comprehend how a father can neglect his own.
Very well written!
PEACE, LUV, JOY,
emy

angel, you hit home for me...my father was around, but he never loved me...i dont think you can love someone and beat them at the same time...ya know? now he claims it was all for my own good, and he begs for forgiveness...i dont think people like my father or yours, deserve a second chance...i hope everything is ok with you though...dont let hi get you down....perfectly written, beautifully stated...great write
