I'll never forget how I felt that day When they told me that you had died I barely reacted, I think I fell silent I sat on my bed, but I never once cried
I couldn't believe it was you they meant The bright young chap with bright blue eyes Who took his own life right after his birthday I prayed and I wished they were telling me lies
It never hit home until the nighttime That you were never coming back again I missed your eyes, your smile, your laughter Nothing would ever be quite the same
I spoke to your Dad for the first time ever He told of your funeral day I told him I'm sorry, it shouldn't have happened That Jim took his own life away
The day of the funeral I was much too nervous I think I was shaking from head to toe We got so lost, we missed your burial Guilt of that day will never ever go
What more can I say, you're sorely missed I wish I could see you just once more What made you do it, we will never know Only you can ever know what it was for

What an emotional write...I'm so sorry you lost a friend that way. I read suicidal poetry on here all the time, and it just breaks my heart, to think someone could feel so helpless, that they can't go on. If you ever need a sounding board, feel free to PM me....Take Care,
Scorp. |
