THE SECOND TIME AROUND(Peter Sprenkeler)

She appears before mea vision of delightful nakedness,
I admire her delicious curvesshe glows in the dimming light.
An erotic imagemy mind swirls in lust and passion,
She swims in the mooda truly sensual delight.

I remember those halcyon dayswhen we first met,
A dizzying whirl of passionwithin me the memories glow.
How did it ever escape usI find myself asking?
Could I recapturethat which we had so long ago?

At separate addresseswe meet now meet to try and rebuild,
Tentatively we fumble for the words and passion.
Both scarred by the decline and fall of true love,
Warily a new start we try to fashion.

The magic is still thereyet so veiled in pain,
We stumble amid the wreckageto find a clue.
We sift through the memoriesthough wounds conceal,
Doubt shrouds allas we attempt to rekindle anew.

Yet as we touchall the pain strangely vanishes,
That unique firestill burns so deep and strong.
From the emotional chaosit is clear to us both,
Together in each others arms is where we belong.

Entwined in the heat of unbridled passion,
We for a brief heated moment forget all that drove us apart.
Exultant in the joys of long forgotten emotional fulfillment,
We have abandoned angerfor the love we had from the start.
