Discovering online friends
was my pot of gold
but moving too fast's
a problem I'm told
It's difficult you see
when the brain is hardwired
different from the rest
damn! I've made everyone tired
No doubt I'm annoying
to all but a few
Accept my apologies
sorry I offended you
I am such an idiot
for an IQ of 120
you think I'd know better
my chances were plenty
But impulse kicks in
and banishes the rest
I've driven away
the friends I miss best
When friendships are measured
in a few weeks, that's all
you think I'd be okay
with taking that fall
But some things do matter
even those insignificant
new friendships are special,
special fulfillment
Of my heart's desire
to connect with the world
but rushing too fast
from your presence I'm hurled
I'll remember you fondly
today and tomorrow
but you've entered a realm
that I cannot follow
Expectations I must lower
yes, lower the bar
now my vision is clouded
I can't see very far
So now I am floating
in an ether of null
with plenty of time
on my failures to mull
