The Ghost of You

Topic: dedicatedpoems

After you left me the feeling never quite went away.
It was one of those warm days that felt like May.
You came up to me, told me, and kissed me good-bye.
You never did tell me why.
All the things I remember were packed into boxes.
Even the old stuffed animals that used to be foxes.
I sat and watched as you left my life for good.
I would have followed you, you know I would.
I miss you so much it hurts deep inside.
We will never go for that car ride.
As I sit here and write this poem for you
I look up and watch the neighbors that are just so new.
That house is still yours and still smells of you.
We seemed to wait together calling your name.
And the hoop we put together…I never did win a game.
The shed in my back yard when I got my first kiss from you is still waiting for us.
And do you remember that old neighbor Gus?
It’s so lonely with out you.
My parents miss you too.
I know deep in my heart that you’re not coming back.
But I still keep that old picture of you on my painted rack.
I just wanted to tell you
That I loved you, I still do.
Good-bye Scott.
I miss you a lot.

I know the feeling of having loved someone but you still do.. this was a beautiful poem and it was to me a great way to actually let go and say goodbye..
