when i close the book
put it on the shelf
the disassembled
mutilation of self
and i leave the image
the story
the fate
i leave it to dust
i leave it to wait
for the broken wrists
to untie the veil
untie the noose
escape the jail
the prison sentence
book of life
book of pride
i left you wrapped in the pages
i left you to rot
through the ages
you're a simple word
a namesake
on a tattered page of denial
i've locked you away
to receive a just fate
i don't feel you
i won't feel you
the inevitable ink on the paper
the inevitable regret on the shelf
the tempter the temptest
of hurting myself
the book is closed
the scarlet letter next to your name
marking you irrelevant to life
the traitor on the broken wrists
you're an inevitable life sentence
