its gone there's not even an aftertaste just a tired shell with a mind on zero disappearing and forever away good riddance (some say)
the eyelids close fragmenting in the absence as the breath hums smoothly skimming the air only the mouth seems to move lazily turning upwards to reflect the inside a feeling of mutation a touch of evolution a sense of transformation all encircling the warmth that's bloomed the first moment of relief accompanied by some disbelief (how?) the events as they congealed blurring and shifting till the climax screamed downplaying bleeding over fading out ringing back into the silence so welcomed so loved keeping the feeling securing the stain letting the mind's eye focus and slowing the drain as all the memories turn numb dispelling everything relatable a figure no longer understandable just a child to put to bed sleeping with thoughts that don't exist
not in this world for something has been lost that cannot be gained

Brillant. This poem was well written and well expressed. The ending was good.
just a child to put to bed
sleeping with thoughts that don't exist
I love that part. It just leaped out at me for some reason. Great poem
Take care
