A warm summer night
Nerves on edge
Fears of expected silence
Which were only to be broken
You began as a stranger
I knew you not at all
My nerves immediately settled
I was swept over by comfort
The conversation flowed effortlessly
So much we had in common
From stranger to friend
You were more than expected
I listened to your stories
Gave all your words my trust
As unbelievable minutes grew to be hours
The morning sun about to emerge
My time to leave had arrived so shortly
I imagined a kiss goodbye
But a hug you gave me and a smile you flashed
Said I would see you soon
Fortune took a chance with my heart
A chance taken with care
This very first night I realized it was you
Just what I wanted, a dream come true
