I knew
that day never had to happen
why didn't I say it
why couldn't I help you
how could I fail you
you would have hated me
but you would have been safe
life would have been better
now i feel helpless
only reading about your pain
not able to shake you out of your devious thoughts
but that doesn't change the fact that i knew.

good poem. it's definately has emotion. and keeps the reader guessing exactly what it was you knew. keep up the good work.

| I really like it Jen. It has mystery and emotion. Wondering what you knew; the sadness in beating yourself up over what you felt you should have done but now feel you have failed someone. But obviously you care and hopefully your past failure will grow into a future success. Very good write. Keep it up! |
