Too Far Gone

Contributed by Serendippitty on Monday, 6th June 2005 @ 09:17:52 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Ive been knocked down
Cant get back up
Im too far down
This is enough

You cant pick me up
after youve put me here
Because Im too far gone
Theres no hope left here

Im not something you can break
and glue back together the pieces
You cant just be worthy of my heart
and all of the love that it releases

Look at me now,
knocked down but not defeated
Ive been hurt and broken
but certainly not deleted

You broke me, you hurt me
but Im not out of action
I wont let you know how bad you hurt me
I wont give you that satisfaction

Im together now, okay
Good as new
In fact Im too good now
Too good for you

I love the ending of this one.. Not giving him the satisfaction then showing him you where too good for him to begin with. He should have been happy to have someone as soulful as you.. Great write.. Keep that spirit up..

This is a really great poem. The 2nd stanza, where you rhymed 'here' with 'here' put me off a little, but you really brought it together with the fifth stanza. That is the best part of the poem. Excellent job!
