watching you as you sip at the blood red wine
your eyes slowly dancing across its surface
your lips twitch slightly and I turn away
you don't care about anything anymore
I close my eyes
dreaming of bygone days of old
when everyone could live together in peace
the light of a benevolent God shining down and blessing all of us as one
when we could sit together and watch the sunrise
when you could talk with another prson and feel what they feel
when we could all love and forget how to hate
but that has changed now
no one cares for anything but their own desires now
we're caught up in a whirlwind of apathy
we don't seem to mind
but on the inside
I can see...
we cry out for help
as darkness falls on our sinning souls

I like this. The picture it paints is, sadly, very true, but it looks like someone at least is not caught up in blind apathy. Well done.
