The past no longer haunts me,
There is nothing more it can do,
No flickering images leaving their seed,
Growing into some sense of doom,
Gone are the memories I once feared,
Of unforgiveable pain toward those I loved,
Malicious actions that ended in tears,
With no remorse nor belief in trust,
Now there is a relaxing sense of peace,
A calmness that has settled in,
I finally feel a sigh of relief,
At long last the healing can begin.

| nice job, i can actually feel myself relaxing as the poem transitions from the intense emotion to the "calmness" and "healing" |
