Sour Love

Contributed by Pats4eva7 on Friday, 10th June 2005 @ 11:37:20 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Does love have an expiration date?
Can it truly last until death?
I used to believe, I thought it was true,
Until love stole away my final breath.

For almost three years,
One man held my heart.
Those were the best and worst time,
Ive never felt so whole, yet so torn apart.

He's everything Im not and everything I am,
I saw heaven in his eyes of blue.
I thought we'd last until our dying day,
I never imagined we could be through.

But i've let him control me far too long,
Ive played puppet to his forceful ways.
Im tired of being a prisoner of darkness,
Being held hostage from the golden rays.

Ive never shed so much blood,
And ive never spilt o many tears.
Its like ive lived a complete life,
In just three little years.

The abuse I endured must end now,
But I could never say goodbye.
There's no way I could hate you,
There's no way I could try.

We didnt last forever,
I just dont have that power.
Without my approval, without my dismay,
This love has now gone sour.

Another instant like. From the first couple of lines you grabbed me.

Does love have an expiration date?
Can it truly last until death?

Who doesn't think that? It is hard to explain these things well... but you did.

Even as I progress through the poem I can see more grabbing things. Like... how you compare you being torn apart to you being whole.

Finally... the end... is a breakthrough... and I love it. Breakthroughs are always cool... heck yeah!! Lol... great write...
