State Of Bliss

Contributed by Man_On_High on Friday, 10th June 2005 @ 10:33:47 PM in AEST
Topic: surreal

It's all about us like a cloud..
a world we do not see,
yet the final closing of an eye
may bring us there to be.

The gentle breezes fan our cheeks
amidst our worldly cares..
It's softest speeches whisper love
and mingle with our prayers.

'Tis all surrounding, calm serene..
commanding all of time;
it palpitates the veil between
in grandeur and sublime.

The silence is a sweetened calm
forbidden not to break..
For mortal words are not for it
to utter or partake.

Committed to a higher quest,
so fluidly it seems
to gently lull us to our rest
and melt into our dreams.

In all the quiet peace it sings-
'Tis easy now to see
how lovely and how sweet a pass
our final moments be.

Our mortal pain be all but gone...
...this altered state of bliss...
the ebb and flow of velvet tides
in twilight of remiss..

For all of this surrounds us still;
it's always by our side.
It'll hear our thoughts and muse our prayers
in life or death to guide.

So let it.. 'tween us be as not
a dried and vanished stream,
but it.. be our reality-
and our suffered lives.. the dream.

Excellent write. Maybe someday it will become a state of reality for many more of us.

i never read surreal poetry before, and this was a good example of it i suppose in a certain perspective, though you are always good at freestyle.

Sweetheart,
Upon first read, this piece seems to speak of a softer, kinder, more
gentle existence. On the surface, it is so delicate and comforting.
But at a deeper glance, (especially stanza's 6 and 7), there is a
feeling I get that perhpas our "final rest" is where the state of bliss
resides.

Yes, "the final closing of an eye" may indeed bring us to a
bliss unknown to mortals .. it's heaven of which you speak, no?

That final stanza, love. Oh! What a wishful heart, you do possess.
And how grand if the wish were to be brought to fruition. Exceptional
write, dear one. I've said this before - you are NO surface dweller.
And I, for one, am enormously happy you're not. Positively so!

with love, ever and ever
~Breezy
