Shower Of Light

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Saturday, 11th June 2005 @ 10:48:51 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The sky rains down tonight.
Silver specked with white fames...
They dance in her eyes like a candle,
Before it cools and fades.

Reflections of moonlight and broken
Street light illuminations,
On cold steel of bitter blade...
Shadows cross themselves and fog her pupils...
Blocking the daylight,
And pleading she gives into the grey.

The dust doth raise around her pale thin form...
Like a halo it dances around her,
Up she gazes into the stars...
And holds back her tears until her vision blurs.

And he comes again,
Like a shadow he appears on her balcony,
His lips are moist, he grins at her,
She turns from him, using her tears like a curtain from his
heavy gaze.
She does not resist him...
She knows well enough to know...
It never works.

The Sky rains down tonight.
The fire from their souls burn on,
as balls of fire in transparent drops...
It hangs in her eyes like a fever,
Before the light cools and fades,
And she goes out along with it.
