They've been gone for a while
You haven't seen their face.
They've been gone for a while
And left without a trace.
You can't help but wonder, though
If they'll come back one day
You can't help but think,
Why'd they go away?
All they are to you, now
Is a memory passing by
And all you can do about it
Is sit and wonder why.
Why didn't you get the chance
To say I love you, and goodbye
Why couldn't you keep in touch,
How will you know if they die?
You know that you won't see them
But you still hold on to hope,
And everywhere that you go
You look for their face,
And every google search you take,
His name you try to trace.
The search goes on forever
Like the best-friends you said you were.
You'd think your hope would die by now
Since the memories start to blur.
But you keep on looking
Cause you were together for so long,
And you keep on hoping
Cause he, just can't be gone.
But the biggest question that you have
Is if he searches too,
And your biggest hope is that maybe,
He misses you.
So every birthday wish
And every star at night
You tightly shut your eyes
And wish with all your might.
That maybe if your lucky
He'll be searching too,
And maybe if your lucky
He'll come back to you.

| Yes! Absolutely! I think there's something to be said about that type of devotion on your part, but at the same time, if you feel that same way, you always wonder if its reciprocated. I agree with every word of this stunner of a poem you've written here! Without a doubt one of the best poems I've read from you. lol I guess I'll have to add it to the growing list though. The story was just so nostalgic, and lol cutesy like you said. I think it was something of a tearjerker, but not to that extent where you wanna cry your heart out, lol. It pulled on whatever heartstrings I have though, I'll tell u that much. Nevertheless an amazing poem, you've told quite the story! |
