What's the Use of Trying If I Always End Up Crying

You made the embers of my eyes go out, lost to the night's starry sky,
You decapitated my hope, the only butterfly I had left inside.
You used to make my heart palpitate,
Now the beating is frozen in my chest,
And my blood runs cold with loneliness.
I held my screams behind my lips,
But you squeezed them out when the sun unlit.
Let the mud extrude when you make my skin separate,
Free me of the filth you've injected into me,
Bewteen my eyes and my eyelids rolls out the saline.
The shards of my empty, broken heart,
Poke at my thoughts and leave me with shameful scars,
And a message of "die young and save yourself."
My cries died on the wind, never reached the ears of anyone,
And I'm trapped in the darkness that seems to smother the sun.
I hold back the tears that threaten to spill in front of the world,
I don't want everyone to think that I'm a crazy little girl,
Just throw me on the dusty shelf.
If I had wings I'd fly away from here forever,
All I'd leave behind: a frayed and bleeding undeterminate feather.

| I was attracted to your poem by your meter in your clever title, and the meter continued in your piece very well for a spell, but broke up on occasion, and your rhyming very sporatic. out side of that it was clear you were in lovelorn pain and perhaps taken in by some sweet talk.
