Emeralds are trapped jungle forests,
with all the life hardened to a sparkle.
Sapphire is the bluest sky,
without any clouds or pollution.
A diamond is just a fire imprisoned in stone,
still radiating energy.
Topaz is the sunset in all it's splendor,
just as amethyst is the moment just before dawn.
Rubies are blood in it's most pure form,
while garnets are fresh from the veins.
Obsidian is the solidified black vacuum of space.
And when light passes through the fractures of broken quartz,
it puts the stars in your hand.

| Hey I have been away from the site for awhile glad I decided to come and read today! What a wonderful write. I am a big fan of earthly stones and sterling silver (I have rings on almost every finger) I am a huge fan of amethyst (a calming vibration it has) and loved your line "amethyst is the moment just before dawn" aaaahhhhh so well described. Mother Nature truely has some grand treasures hidden within her. Much peace to you. |
