Home ~~~~~ I met you at the garden To say my goodbyes I kissed your forehead And set out a sigh
Its difficult to leave This place I call home Its always been special No matter where Ive roamed
Nothing really changes Except the clothes on the lines You grow up like your Daddy To work in the mines
You are an exception to escape The curse of a small town Thats why generation after generation Families are still around
Bud, at the local store Said Im one of the lucky few But each time I leave I wonder if its true
For there is a warmth here That isnt easily found Thats why my heart will always be part Of this small town

I understand where you are coming from...
I live in a small town and everything I have ever known is here, even though I have been to many other places.
But I know if I ever need to go back It will always have open arms. |

I left the small town life many years ago to set out for a different fiture. There is a lot of life history in your poetry.
I thought i would check out something older by you. |
