Promise me that in the end
I'll have the strength to laugh again
And walk outside to let the rain
Gently wash away my pain
To dance barefoot, toes in sand
Rock out to my favorite band
Promise me the sun will shine
My heart will soon again be mine
On secrets sweet I will dwell less
(But those most dear I'll still possess)
Above all else, please promise this --
That someday someone new will kiss
As sweetly, as lovingly as you do
Please promise me, please be true
