Tragedy Met Me Today... And I Feel... Nothing

Contributed by abnormalpunk on Thursday, 16th June 2005 @ 08:58:32 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

my shadow is my only friend
and when i burn out all my candles
he envelops me
surrounds me
swallows me
with his warmth

inhaling him ive tried to enjoy
but im left empty
on neutral
without the breaks
to end my constant work cycle
of surviving my life

is this my endeavor
to follow my own footsteps
into the obvious
right before my eyes
it lies to me
it lays in front of me
it listens to my agony in my sleep
my shadow
my other side
my only friend
my one companion that never leaves me
until i burn out all my candles

there it is
welcome darkness
my new friend
my new shadow...

or lack there of......
