Best Friends Shouldn't Lie

Contributed by c2b6s on Sunday, 19th June 2005 @ 06:49:03 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Four years, it took
To gain my trust
To make me fall in love with you

One look, it must
Have meant more than words can say
To take everything away

Two bestfriends, we were
Closer to love than we can explain
A boy and a girl whose souls were connected
What do I have to show for it?
I've lost my other half
And you never even felt the same

All that matters is that you're happy together
I can't forget the day that everything changed
And she, she'll never love you like i do
And we, we'll never be the same

This life has turned into a show
Put on for people I used to call friends
They all have an opinion, but they'll never know
What its like to put everything on the line
And find you have nothing in the end

The first line of every poem is the same
You broke my heart, I can't forget
Sometimes I wonder if you think about me at all
Or if you've realized that you need me yet

Everything you told me was a lie
I can't stand to look at the truth
How is it that you didn't even try
I KNOW you felt it too

One month, so long ago
It seems like a completely different world
To know you've always been in love with her...

"The first line of every poem is the same
You broke my heart, I can't forget
Sometimes I wonder if you think about me at all
Or if you've realized that you need me yet"

oh my gosh...very heartbreaking.

This touched me so for I can relate to the feelings of losing your love and then seeing them with another girl. The pain is indescribable.

Sad poem, and I do hope your heart ache does soon subside fellow poet.

P.s i know how it feels
