My thoughts go now, to Ashley Brown. And yet I wonder, how? She flickers like a candle's flame, just some shadows, a voice, and a name that hides away in the back of my brain, next to the dreams and the regret. A girl about the age of ten, when I was ten, it was long ago when she smiled like she was my friend, and said, "Hi, my name is Ashley Brown." So many lives have passed since then, too many changes, but then again, I have become a different kid, or not a kid, because I did grow up to become a man. But I'm afraid I no longer am the kid who knew a friendly place, a forgotten year, a misplaced face that might once have graced the fondest dreams of which I've chased, or have chased as is the case. As my thoughts wander now to Ashley Brown, I search for the memories, begin to frown, pick up the year book, to put it down, because as much as I try to come to terms, I just can't seem to remember her.
