After all these years I still sit at this window, Look out to the city Filling with snow And hate myself Its not supposed To be like this I should think about tomorrow And smile After all, without me There would be No snowy city, No long parades, No one softly skating On the ice that shines Like diamonds All that is true, But this I know With time all things fade I held the torch That led the crowds There was greatness then We marched and fought together We shouted and sang together Voices, where there had Only been silence And I, I was so angry, And so hopeful In my heart was a fire Unlike any other I led the people We marched in and Took the city That was years ago, None sing the old songs now And when I look I see no greatness, Yet still I burn
