Lights, Camera, Action

Contributed by brew on Monday, 27th June 2005 @ 10:20:21 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Look at me; I am a beautiful dancer, on the set with all the trimmings
Watching; and ready to dance and flow, like I never have
People making such a fuss over me, but all along they need not too
Simple, alive, free, and anxious to do all

I jump to my feet, so I may express myself while stretching, and toning
Wee, says the dancer, who knows all eyes are on just her
She has long golden hair, fair white skin, and just a touch of glisten from being a dancer

She then, takes the first step, and hears no whispers
She only feels the frightened, heart beat of her own
Dancing, and feeling the musicThen it happens
Her heart, emotions and all are, stricken
No boundaries.its time for the performance of her life

The dancer, turns; looks and she knows all lights are upon her
In flightless wonder, she has done steps never performed before
Yes.a gasp of relief, she knows.I have completed what I needed to do.
Now the dancer, will dance as she has floated
Never looking back, but knowing it was there all the time
Lights Camera and Action.?bows?

This was fantastic. I know a lady who used to dance many years ago and it completely discribes what she had always tried to explain to me. The feeling of everyone watching your every move and being appreciated.

You absolutely captured the moment!

This is great. Not many poems are of something such as this. I call this a unique poem. It was a nice, positive write. Keep this up...
