Hidden In My Eyes

Can you see it
In my eyes
Look deep enough
And you may be surprised
The person you see outside
Sometimes really isnt me
Everyone sees the smiles
And the happiness I portray
But who am I really
When you turn away
I am broken and confused
Like a lost little girl
How can I explain this
To you
I swallow back the tears
That try to overrun my life
The empty feelings deep inside
That I shadow with a smile
My heart is drowning
I have to let them out
Can I have a shoulder
To cry on
And not have to say
What its all about
Please try and understand
That I cant explain
Because deep inside myself
I know nothing but lonliness and pain
