Warning On Me

Contributed by xXcrossedXx on Tuesday, 28th June 2005 @ 08:00:11 PM in AEST
Topic: PoemsonBeauty

Tell me about the gorgeous girl you see,
Express the love you have for me.

Describe how I am flawless
When put in front of a mirror,
But one look and I'll know I'm worthless.

Write poems about my eyes
And tell me my legs are fantastic,
But I'll never believe these lies.

Find the weirdest thing to say
Like how my stomach's sexy,
But I'll still want to puke it all away.

Go ahead and tell me what you think
Share what you see,
But don't be surprised when I tell you
The girl you love isn't real.
For unloved is how I'll forever feel
And ugly is all I'll ever be.

So my warning to you
Is not to waste your breath on me.

That was the perfect ending! I loved it. I've felt like this myself. If I can't convince you that you don't break mirrors, then take a look on the inside! I know you'll find stuff there that you're bound to love!

so you think youre ugly? youre just categorizing yourself in your own stereotype, others, and 90 percent of the population. of course you will not believe others, if you dont believe it yourself. i used to be the same way, and i dont know what exactly changed, maybe i realized that everyone is ugly, and i am no different, or i just didnt care, because everyone isnt as beautiful as they want to be. because the ones that pack on the makeup, they think they have to maintain their beauty, if they are called ugly once, they are scarred and just pack on more of the mask. so before i write an essay, you wrote an excellent poem, once of your bests, loved the ending. excellent rhymes, and keep it up.

*applauds* A wonderful poem Amanda! I don't think I could have put those feelings into better words than that. We all have to deal with them, some of us more than others, but you're beautiful, and no matter how ugly you feel, you're stuck with yourself. So please don't be scared of your bathroom miror i promise it won't break the next time you look into it. ;) *hugs* luv ya Amanda

your cousin,
~karis~

i like how you put what the other person would be saying to you and then to follow it, what you would be thinking. it really matches what usually goes through MY head when i get compliments...its like for the time being i'll WANT to and a part of me believes it but then i come back to *my* reality and i dont believe a word of any of it. goregous poem, i really love it, your amazing.... =) =* =D
