The fate of so many hearts
Weigh heavily upon me today
And as I try to carry them all
Hope seems so far away
Each step gets harder now
As I pursue the light
Quickly darkness overtakes me
I fear soon it will be the night
I dare not falter
I dare not stop to rest
For all are hearts I love
Their fears I must arrest
I cannot find a resting place
For no refuge do I see
No place of warmth and comfort
Waiting to strengthen me
Tho hope is fading
And relief is out of view
I will persevere my hearts
I will not abandon you
So with renewed determination
And the prayers I pray
I ignore the despair of darkness
For the hope of day
One step at a time I take
On legs so unsteady
Until the journey is complete
And your hearts are ready
To bask in the light of love
The hope of a new day
Standing on your own
Then I shall fade away
