Hopelessness

Contributed by poet_of_anger on Thursday, 30th June 2005 @ 12:32:12 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Hopelessness
It is blinding me tonight
Lost in the edges of this broken knife
Thoughtlessness
It stings my heart tonight
Lost in the pages of my life

Every place I go
I seem to carry pain along
It follows and stalks me
It won't leave me alone
And so I call into question
The purpose of my being
My thoughts that betray
The actions that make me afraid

Hopelessness
It is blinding me tonight
Lost in the edges of this broken knife
Thoughtlessness
It stings my heart tonight
Lost in the pages of my life

Your eyes are deceitfull
They try to convince me of your lies
But I can see through them
Finding the truth that tries to hide
Do you really think I'm blinded
By the warmth that you provide
Your words like daggers
That reak havoc on my mind

Hopelessness
It is blinding me tonight
Lost in the edges of this broken knife
Thoughtlessness
It stings my heart tonight
Lost in the pages of my life
