world of storms

Contributed by priss on Saturday, 2nd July 2005 @ 02:15:57 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

i was there when your face was warm
and love was upon your tongue
it was me who surrendered to your gentleness
and fell asleep comfortably.
and it was me who was awaken
by the angry air
and the pounding rain
who together washed away the life that was love.
it was me who ran for cover
and found instead
a world of storms
and walked among the fires
where i was trampled under ashes
and spit at for my dirty face.
and it is me
who is here now
for the birth of every day
and even though i walk
between flames and rain
i'm careful not to get wet
and if i'm burned,
my spirit helps to
mend the wounds.

Great write. Been through a few storms myself. Loved this part "walked among the fires where i was trampled under ashes and spat at for my dirty face" Very powerful. Thanks for sharing. Peace, Laura

I truly love this poem! A sophisticated and subtle piece that has a number of interpretations - what motivated you to write this one, I wonder? Are you Mother earth or a survivor of a bad relationship, lesson learned? Some other meaning perhaps?

On any level, I thoroughly enjoyed this one, still "wowing" as I write this comment. A 5/5

Spike
