Demonic Insomniac

Contributed by justme03 on Saturday, 2nd July 2005 @ 01:59:40 PM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

Sleepless and crazed
A monster of the night
Come and take a midnight flight
with the Demonic Insomniac

Running away with imagination
by my side
I see the moon as I hang out the window.
I reach up and grab it, plucking it from the sky,
like an apple from a tree.
I bury it deep inside my housecoat pocket
keeping reminders of my nighttime adventures.

I shuffle down the hallway
(a zombies walk)
and stop at the mirror
checking to see if Im still here.

The grandfather clock announces 2 a.m.
The adventure has only begun.
I find a comfy spot to spend another
early morning
and begin to scrawl my
endless thoughts onto a piece
of blue lined, red margin paper.
The ink spills from my pen
into a fountain of thoughts
The Demonic Insomniac is at it again!
Another tale lunges out of her pen.
Where do these thoughts come from?
Where do they end?

I glance up from my messy writings.
The clock on the wall reads 4 a.m.
Another night has passed me by.
The morn is in sight.
I will see another sunrise.

The yellow orb arises slowly.
I make a wish
to help me through the day.
I take a breath
and watch the darkness get washed away.
I stand in the morning sun.
Basking in its dazzling rays.
The Demonic Insomniac
has survived through the death
of night.
Now I ponder in the morn of what
to explore
during my few moments
before I drift away
into another hazy day.

I know all about this demon as we speak almost every night. I really enjoyed this.
