The Light Before Tommorow

Contributed by gilbert92 on Friday, 24th August 2007 @ 06:16:54 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Locked in her room, in her bed under the sheets lies the angel from our dreams. A tear silently rolls down her check, the trail left behind tells the story of solitude wishes of death, and her untamed desires. She tries to forget about him and the past, but the scars she bears both physically and mentally are the constant reminder of her pains and sorrows. She opens the window to let the wind dry her tears, for she feels no reason for her to wipe them off as they will flow even harder than before. The stars from above illuminate her face trying to consul her tired soul. She waits for the sun to bring a better day, a day without pain, without loss, without betrayal. She unites her hands in harmony and in a whisper she beings to pray..... Moments pass, and at last the sun peaks over the horizon, bringing forth a new day of laughter, happiness, and Love

Nice. I've realized that this poem is about the value of friendship. The whole time I was reading this I was picturing you thinking of your friend, searching for words to not only express the reality of her situation, but more importantly to provide her hope as well. While this poem does a great job of describing your friend and her feelings, it is more about you than it is her, because what really comes through is your attitude toward life, disappointment, and pain--the faith you hold in love and faith in the natural goodness of the universe, that somehow everything is ok, even in the most darkened moments.
