Monster

Contributed by broken-glass on Wednesday, 3rd December 2003 @ 01:03:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

My friend has a monster within.
There will never be a way to release this monster,
its diabolic eyes,fiendish stare.
This monster was sent from the Devil.
The cuts on his arms?
A mere way to try to get the creature out of his body.
Smashing his head against walls?
To damage it, whilst it feeds on his brain.
And how it feasts on his brain.
The alcohol?
A substance to poison the monster.
The drugs?
A way to kill it.
But it never works.
And why?
Because to kill the moster beneath his skin.........
would be to kill him himself.

this was so welll thought out, its so true, sometimes you feel as if you have to kill something inside to get rid of the pain, however in the wrong way, you end up killing yourself, just like you put. hopefully you can help your friend, don't allow him to keep hurting himself. just be there for him, do the right thing. good luck. and take care.

crap I felt as if this was written to me. I've felt everything u've described in this poem and it touched me deeply I don't really know what to say, but seriously this was awesome... and I wish I could express myself as clearly as you can.

I read this again a few more times and I am convinced its one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read. I almostcried because I can relate to it so much as I mentioned before. I could ramble on for hours about this, but it wouldn't do the poem justice so I'll just shut up.
