Rain In My Heart

Contributed by darkplaidbabe on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 10:54:30 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Its raining in my heart today
My mind is cold my soul is gray
I feel so alone yet so overcrowded
The silence strangles me,
And theres nothing I can do about it
I feel so confused, so left behind
Are there others like me?
Those of my kind?
I cant shake this feeling
A sickness deep inside my head
I thought I was healing
But I was already dead
Will it ever be the same?
No one can ever know
Why do we play this love game?
Why put on such a show?
Wearing these masks
To hide our true selves
One has to ask,
Are we in heaven or hell?
Do we see whats really there?
Are we lost in delusion?
Should we try, should we even care?
Or be content with seclusion?
Should we give up and leave the rest behind?
Or should we try to salvage what wreckage we find?
This world is far too complex for a simple girl like me
Perhaps someday ill understand, perhaps someday ill see
But now these questions burn holes in my thoughts
We are human, we are wrong, we are so flawed
These things so far are what I know
I guess we must simply learn as we go.

I love your last line, 'I guess we must simply learn as we go'. There is truth in that statement. Life is full of confusion and uncertainty, but sometimes we have to accept that we are confused, and we have to understand that it is ok. No one has lived there life and had all of the answers. Everyone has had to learn as they go. And when we can accept that it is ok not to have all of the answers presented to us, then we can rest in our confusion comfortably, and be content learning as we go. Because that is the only thing we can do.

Be True,
zenmind

You did a wonderful job on this poem. I really liked it and I think everyone has been in this situation of feeling confused. But all we can do is settle and accept that we can't know all the answers. So we must learn as we go. Good poem.

I liked your flow & style in this one.Yes, human race is flawed but it beautifies itself with society's love,or what is left of it.Your last verse well justifies the reason the questions remained unanswered.
