Unfinished Symphony...

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Tuesday, 9th November 2004 @ 02:21:23 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Darkness embraces the soul,
The heart withers to die
Ticking its last song,
And then only silence
The paper bullets have penetrated much deeper,
Ripping me open, revealing everything
Vulnerable, tainted, fallen from Grace..
Night, my eternal dwelling
The moon, my forever-inspiring Muse
A Child of Obscurity
A Flower of Morbidity
Soul-less I am
Never to experience happiness,
My hopes and dreams soar high,
Only to be shot down once more
Suicide, the perpetual Temptress of my dreams
HIM, that incessant nightmare that haunts me
The salacious father
Raping my mind, slowly torturing my last bit of Sanity
There is no hope,
There is no God
Belief is a sin,
And all life is lost forevermore
Im too deep in thoughts of Death,
To be saved by sympathy and kind words
Im on the edge,
Leaning over, and gazing at Death in the eyes
Endless, dark abyss
A long-awaited end
Let me die in your arms, in this sweet embrace
Let me get lost in your infinite eyes
Break these heavy chains that bound me to my horrid Master,
And set me free
Lend me your precious voice,
And complete this unfinished symphony,
That is my life,
This wretched existence
Way over my head with concepts of self-destruction,
But maybe love can be the Savior
Maybe, love can be found in a persons eyes, smile, kiss
Maybe.........

Its you who I need

Lovely!
Great job.
It flows nicely, and I love the idea behind it.

A deeply emotional symphony of words. A Melodie of Hope exists and cries out for discovery. It shall be found. For it does exist.

Nothing less than beautiful from you Steph, as always.

Wow, Stephy, this poem was intense and frightening! It makes me sad that something so terrible has happend to you that you find yourself caught in the grips of suicide and death. Don't hold it in. Keep writing to release it, that way it won't overtake you. But my love goes out to you. But I was encouraged by the way you ended this poem on a positive note. It's as if you are hanging onto life by a strand, swaying delicately in the wind. And this strand is love. Hold true to love. Love is the most powerful thing in the universe. It is what unifies every human soul and every living thing. I am reminded by a song by Bjork, who is one of my favorite musicians. I know she is really wierd, and has a stange voice, but she is beautiful, and I cannot see how anyone would not absolutely adore her if they took the time to really listen without their preconcieved ideas of who she is or prejudgements of her. But anyway, the song is called "All is full of Love". And it is a beautiful reminder that indeed, life is always full of love, even in the darkest moments, there is always love. And there will always be someone who loves you.

Oh yeah, of course I have to pick out my favorite lines that struck me:

The paper bullets have penetrated much deeper,
Ripping me open, revealing everything…
Vulnerable, tainted, fallen from Grace

I love these images, especially paper bullets. It seems contradictory, but in an interestingly good way.

There is no hope,
There is no God…
Belief is a sin

That line struck me too. I can feel your anger and despaire in that one. Good way to express it.

But maybe love can be the Savior…
Maybe, love can be found in a person’s eyes, smile, kiss…
Maybe.........

And of course, my favorite part. I especially loved the "maybe" part at the end because that expresses what I meant when I said that you are holding onto a single strand. Keep holding onto love. Love can never be exausted. It constantly redeems itself. It is eternal. And the love I am talking about is not romantic love, but it is beyond conceptual understanding. It just is.

Be True,
zenmind
