this year

Contributed by reilt on Monday, 22nd November 2004 @ 02:11:11 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

This year
He was unkind
Dark, inpenetrable boy
Colourless eyes
Scorned me one morning
With sharp surprise
And shock
Shock, horror
Broke me, mended me
Then couldn't decide!

I think about him
Though different
Dreams taking new direction in flight
Seeking understanding
That doesn't ease or settle
Or find.

It was one
It was another
It was love
For me or for her!?!
Oh had it been last year,
That light year,
Maybe I
I could decide to care.

But it's been a time,
A stretch of strength,
Of calm,
Resolution, absolution
Now dissolution
Of all anger and raw regret.
The healing of
Drifting sweetly into my domain.

Now I am brave,
I am new.
I am trusting
I am true.
And this year
I am kind for myself
Soft, open girl
With willing heart
I learn,
I forgive
And I forget.

I have respect for you. You came through in a "real quality" that a lot of poets don't do. This didn't sound cliqched. You were honest. And your heart, seeped through the words, and I feel like I felt a piece of you. Raw and true.

Be True,
zenmind
