The statues mock with their silence, The carcasses beneath their flawless feet scream for freedom A fly buzzes its last tune, and dies The eyes are unreadable, dead to the living Nostalgia hangs above the poets head, And he weeps crimson agony The lovely moon weeps with him, Tears of diamonds cascading, earth bound He sits, Fingers tingling with yearning to write, Yet, the words are unworthy of keeping Silence sleeps with Loneliness. And the bed yawns, Waiting for an occupant The orchestra begins, The voices start their incessant chatter, And all the lights are extinguished Darkness, delicious in its morbid solitude, Yet, paranoia still ensues Phantoms of the past, Haunting, teasing Insanity is near, so near, Lingering with jaws wide open, Ready to claim its prize Memories are lost within the pile of Forget, And the crosses are put to an eternal slumber Busts of long-deceased poets glare at the uninspired one, Disgust vivid in their blank eyes The dagger laughs at the corpse beside it, All committed by the poets hands Lying on a bed of nails, Crowned with a halo of flies, And the macabre never ends Repetitious jargon, Sung by the mute girl on stage, The deaf audience sits in perpetual silence, And the show must go on Forgotten words flutter in the wind, Love is proclaimed, And the Melodie is left unfinished
To finish a beginning, is the end

Thank you so much for writing these "poet's ramblings"
poems. They're all excellent and I think they are my favorite poems that I've read of yours. (just so you know, that's a really big compliment :)
I just love the words you use. I really relate to the way that you write.
The statues mock with their silence,
The lovely moon weeps with him,
Silence sleeps with Loneliness.
These are all great lines, that I would love to have written myself.
Forgotten words flutter in the wind,
Love is proclaimed,
And the Melodie is left unfinished…
To finish a beginning, is the end…
Great ending. It comes full circle......
.........kind of like life......
..........I like that
Be True,

Holy *****! There's that yawning bed again. ^_^ And if it's the one with nails, I'm not going in there. No, uh-uh.
Obviously I love these ramblings too but a line in here I wish I had thought of is this: "Memories are lost within the pile of Forget." Oh, how I can soooooo relate to that. |
