The Hidden Beauty in an Open Heart

i glance upward to see her photo
plastered across the monitor
i see you in her beautiful smile
and your reflection mirrored in
those big puppy-dog eyes.
she's everything you are and
so much more, a hopeful future.

i watch closely in his still moment
and can see him move with your grace
he has your spirit, never ending.
they all do, so full of your life,
keeping them human; vulnerable.
he's everything you are and
so much more, a fighting chance.

i can only imagine the love
you will share with your little everything.
protected from little horrors,
so close to your bleeding heart,
compassionate and caring. you in a nutshell.
he/she will be everything you are and
so much more, a wise decision.

i look into the souls of you children
a picture perfect family, your goal.
held together by you will,
keeping tiny heataches at bay,
healing their sorrow with your faith.
he is everything you are and
so much more, a complete puzzle.

i catch a glimpse of mom and dad,
mending shattered glass slippers,
our advice their super glue.
bloody hands need time to heal,
holding fast to their fading pumpkin.
we are everything you are and
so much more, sealed with a kiss.
