Wishing Star

Contributed by nothingness on Thursday, 30th November 2006 @ 10:09:19 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A little girl waits in the night
Waiting till her hops comes into sight
The first star slowly peeks into view
She smiles and says she was waiting for you
She talks to the star as it were her best friend
As if all her time was the wishing stars to spend
Her voice so quiet and so full pain
But she forces herself to explain
My little wishing star I need you tonight
You see my parents had another fight
And I seen on the news a lot about war
I wish people didnt have to suffer anymore
Oh little star I would give my life to stop the tears
I know I am little but I wont be in a few years
I just want people to laugh instead of cry
I want people to live instead of die
I know I am asking so much of a little star
But the young ones help its who we are
The adults wont do it so why cant we
Something must have a heart made innocently!
Oh little star I know you see me crying
And I know you see my world is dying
All I want in life is to know everyone will be okay
Fix the world and my life is yours to take away
Little star that is my wish tonight
Goodnight little wishing star I will be alright
A little girl walks back and crawls in bed
The little wishing star smiling at what she said
A whisper quietly echos through the sky
Soon, soon little girl nothing will ever die

I read this poem, i thought it was a great poetic poem. It made you focus on the pain of the little girl, and it drew you to the stars as her source of hope. Cause that's what kids need , hope. great job.
