Silly Little We

Topic: LostLove

Is love?
A dangling thread, we both take hold of
Hoping neither lets go
As tension cause friction, we now engage in tug of war
I feel your hold weaken, it’s just your face doesn’t show

Do we let this thread go
A kiss, so long, and never look back
Is this more than we bargain
Or slowly pull away holding, until the thread snaps

Will the times we shared
Hold the nostalgia enough for tension to slack?
We confess love each night after the I hate you in every fight
I know you feel this, we can’t continue like that

Living in this hell
Once thought you was an angle from up above
Now complacent in misery
Is this love?

Aspired to be more
Than you could dream of
Watching you sipping O.J.
Conspiring to buy smaller gloves

Daily I say I love you
In hopes you feel it too
Wise man said
Lie to your self long enough
Soon you will believe it is true

Sadly questioning myself, how much left in me?
Your eyes ask the same questions
As we make effort to be friendly

Let us, let go .. My suggestion
Those words cleared you thought
No fear, no questions

Only for the next day to awake
Laying next to me
We ponder the situation
Seems the vision clear as can be
We traded convenience over lover love
Silly little we

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
