I’m not surprised that the world hates me
looking back at all my sins
The truth always escaped me
the words I spoke were never mine

The solemn walls I’ve built around me
to protect myself form what may come
is the prison that damns me
my greatest demon is myself

All of my dreams lay shattered
I can’t seem to piece them back
the storm only gets harder
the rains like a whip on my back

I’m not surprised that you hate me
after all the things I said to you
The fights we had wont die
neither will my betrayals

I’m not so sure I can live like this
with the words they scream
all I want to do is fall asleep
and never wake up from my dream

I tried to make my life better
I tried to live my lies
and every time I thought I was helping
I was tying another knot in my noose

I’m writing this so you know
this was not your fault
my actions are the result of me break
I just can’t live like this anymore

The poem is not to my taste but if you are making it into a song then go ahead who knows you might be lucky and have a top hit. Bern

I think that's very good, I think the ending isn't as fitting though, might need some work, but that's just me. Also the speeling needs some work. But really, I like it

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
