The roads are crowded but she feels alone
Manipulated by the things she was told
And betrayed by those she was shown
The disappointment lays heavy in her eyes
And when I put my ear to the sky
I can hear her at night when she cries
Alone inside a crowded room
Decorated with lipstick stained collars and cheap perfume
The walls are lined with ripped photographs
Memories that bleed through the structure and shake the foundation
Now her house will never be a home
Because her broken heart beats all alone
Answering the resentment that calls
Her tortured soul peers threw the thin glass walls
As she weeps upon her bed of stones
Closet full of sticks and bones
Skeletons that represent her life
She will always be a prisoner of regret
Held captive by the angel she cannot forget
The one that never wanted to hurt her
But she'd rather die than set the truth free
So she bleeds silently...
Forgetting the only love her heart as ever truly known
As she crawls into bed beside the devil each night
....To die alone.

| Fantastic stuff! I'm not even sure why/how. This is such a tragic protagonist. And it's made even more depressing because there's no closure - her tragedy extends into eternity. |
