View my writings at my blog: http://capiandreams.blogspot.com/ - Taken from parts of dreams I had, let me know what you think, [bodytext] => The sound of footsteps surround me like a flash flood
Torrents of people rise up out of the underground
Thrashing me this way and that, groping my arms and ripping my shirt.
The air turns slightly colder and the sky turns a deeper shade of gray
The heavens look as if they are about to let loose but nothing neither a drop nor a stone
The windows of the buildings that surround me are covered with black blinds
I have a feeling they too wish to hide, easy for me being so small.
A single bird lands on the single fence post.
The bird stood tall with its wings at stretch before dropping dead on the spot
I kneeled over the bird as though picking up loose change
Whispering a name that seemed fitting
Suddenly the world stopped just halted mid spin
I looked up expecting the Lord to descend
But like rain and stones the heavens had no offer
Why has my world suddenly stopped? Was the bird the cause of all things?
Was its life a metaphor for life itself? What significance was that single post?
The last thing to come in contact with the bird
Or was it my eyes the last contact to its world
I simply walked away feeling anesthetized
I walked the street where cars once pelted down
Their drivers silent and still, stationary in time
The city suddenly felt enormous breaking its boundaries
I heard a crash like steel on steel, the sound bounced off walls and the gathering clouds
I looked up towards the sky, towards the noise
When down came the Lord with horror on his face
Run
He yelled
Save your self.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
