The Moment

The Moment

When is that moment, that time, that precise incidence?
If you have been blessed it would be impossible to forget it.
Someone walks into your sphere of vision and you pause,
Time slows to almost a standstill and everything moves in slow motion.
Everything in your immediate vicinity ceases to be relevant,
In fact, nothing else but HER has your attention and desire.
Around you soundless conversations continue but you are stunned,
You cannot hear anything but focus on the thief of your now stolen heart.
She glides in slow motion and your concentration is such that,
With every step you can see every single strand of her hair move.
The only sound is the pounding in your ears caused by your heart,
Which is coursing the blood around your body like a raging torrent.
Then she has disappeared and the re-emergence into reality stuns,
And you almost reel from the return and yearn for another glimpse,
A glimpse of she to whom you know you will give your heart
For the rest of time and entrust her with your entire body and soul.

Very powerful portrayal of an attraction that is impossible to deny.
Loved the line
"You cannot hear anything but focus on the thief of your now stolen heart"
especially. That's how it happens, unexpectedly someone just steals your heart!!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
