Beware

Contributed by dvtpdw on Sunday, 18th May 2014 @ 04:11:13 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Beware my silence
It's not what you think
I'm not weighing love's balance
I'm just holding onto life's brink

Beware the glint in my eye
I'm not looking where you guess
I'm watching past images go by
Deciding my place in life's chess

Beware the hint of a smile
It's not one that happiness made
I'm trying to decide to stay awhile
Or let death take me to its glade

Beware the words tumbling out
I don't speak what I really mean
I'm questioning what life's about
Why my pasture never seems green

Beware the day I seek the truth
For then I'll know if I'm alone
It'll mark the end of my life's youth
As I allow my mysteries to be shown

Beware time's righteous wave
As it comes to swallow you whole
We're all on the way to our grave
I pray hope revives my mortal soul

"Life's chess"...as though we may all be pawns. Interesting thought. we are all eventually headed towards the grave. It is inevitable. This poem seems to be thinking out loud. As always, g9reat flow and beautifully written.

Be well.

Tim

Much to contemplate, thoughts like this won't get us to heavens gate. Life bends you and knocks you down most of us get with a frown some of us needs to be helped up that's when friends step up. Then there is those of us who get up with a smile and think that was funny for just a while. Very good write reads easy. Sad though, yet I still like it. Blessings

Greetings
Rus

Seek the truth always, even if it hurts. I learned that in my own battle with bipolar depression.
You have the strength to do things on your own, great things.
Thanks for the amazing read -Z.D

I had to double check the author's name. At first read I thought I somehow wrote this elegant pain, because this is so relatable for me. Although I do not think I could write it so precisely. Great job. I hope things get better for you.

The tell to your anguish is the word "beware". Your warning testifies to your caring for the fate of others., and your desire to be revealed. You need only read the comments here to know your worth--personified in the beautiful haunting words you give us.
To write among friends is to walk the path to your own hearts door.
