my friend

Contributed by ladyfawn on Monday, 8th December 2014 @ 02:41:43 PM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

i write about my life and things, words they just flow out,
some are deeply personal, and they make me want to shout!
there are poems about life's observations and wiley wiles
poems on beauty, romance, and nature, bringing on a smile

tho most penned with dignity and grace: some are just weird
i laughed looking back on one, high fever- my brain it seared
or longing- head banging: of something i will never have again
also green of the earth, the moon and stars, sun and the rains

dogs in life have always given delightful drooling inspiration
there is nothing like wracking your mind for that one word-
as the barking continues until a treat is given or walk outside
and the funny thing is that's when rhymes will no longer hide!

as instance i'm at point of not knowing where i'm going with this
and heidi boxer just bounced in and washed my toes with a kiss
little miss heidi boxer- does not care if i'm up all hours or kooky
indeed she wants this 'lil poem all about her, {or maybe a cookie}

I so enjoyed this write as I have 2 furry friends - kids - that I cherish in our life. A dog with diabetes who gets 2 shots of insulin a day and a fat cat that dominates the house. Can't imagine not having them here. Your words remind me of them and how much they bring. P

Well done, LF! A good dog can be the best friend you'll ever have. I know that's a well-used cliche, but it's true. You write just as you feel it, and that's just great. Let them always flow.

Those furballs don't have a price tag. Do they seize the day, or what. Great write.

Best,
Fox

I'm sure she wants both! ;)

Thanks for the smile. My female dog just celebrated another birthday a few days ago. She visibly puffs up when we sing happy birthday to her.
Such a ham.

You can have your parrots and your cats,
To me, they're fine but not really all that.
A dog of any size would never ever eat you.
A cat would, eat you that is, plus your beef stew.
Unlike a cat, the dog never sees you as culinary art.
Your canine friend loves you with all its furry heart.

The best pet to have is a canine friend !!!

Love the poem, Nessa!

:) read today
Life would be simpler if our co-workers were dogs. Nothing feels better than the undivided adoration I get when I come through the door no matter if Ive been gone 5 minutes or 5 days.
Cute, funny, enjoyable read

Hi Nessa

Lovely poem I love dogs and cats. As a kids my folks live on a farm somewhere way back when times where better that now for pets and pet owners I had 167 English Bull dogs they consumed over 300kg of dog pallets a month but gave back more in love and loyalty than any human I've ever known. Then latter I had 30 pairs of breeding cats from Siamese to Persians and Oriental these are very compassionate companions however a cat chooses you, you don't chose it. Great write. God bless

Greetings
Rus

It is wonderful to have comfort in your home, your heart.
Pups are the most faithful, and loving. No matter how they find you, all they ever ask is to be by your side.
With my love always and smiles to your heart

Dog lovers are definitely my favorite people. It is unfortunate that dogs don't live as long as people. My last dog was the best friend I ever had and he lives in my memory.
So many happy experiences we had in his 15 years. You have put so much feeling in these few lines I really enjoyed reading it.
