A Final Admission of Great Merit

Contributed by Invierno on Sunday, 23rd August 2015 @ 04:35:41 AM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

What Peacock , strutting of divine plume attire
in manifested glory, with ambivalence,
forced Darwin to a grieved chambered corner;
his thesis failing to the eyes as logic won;
settled at last when intellect, at gasping, yawning door,
did ridicule itself before the majesty of intricate construction,
no direction need sustain could justify the glory such beauty
doth contain.

I sing to his life/'/s conviction, cry to his false premise, rejoice in his
admission such manifestations could hardly be the stuff of ooze and
amino acids.

Stimulating, and written with your usual flare of pen, but not without its controversy. I like a bit of controversy. I think you'll find that Darwin's denial of his life's work is a bit of an urban myth, given seed by Lady Hope, a devout Christian, who spent her life trying to 'save Darwin's soul'. There is no substantiation from any of his family or friends who were present. Indeed, there is no mention of any faltering of his theory in his autobiography, which was written only a few years before his death. I can always rely on you to set the old grey matter into action.

What a wild blend my friend.
I really enjoyed this. The first stanza was glorious.
I use to raise those proud birds........
This was "outside the box" I can't seem to write that kind of stuff :(

Smile inducing. Flawless write, and I wish I could take credit for it. Wonderful! Flows so effortlessly with exceptional detail in so few words.

I like your poem. As a Christian this is important to me for several reasons the biggest one being that there is a creator. I try to not force that concept on people.

Interesting. I never color inside the lines. This gave me the thought that you are part of the same tribe. ;)
