Impossibly hollow within,
Grasping for all I can near,
Attempts to fill this aching void,
Yet nothing ever appears.
How can I hold any value,
When emptiness is all that's here.
How can I hope for acceptance,
When I'm living in darkness and fear.
Clinging to fragments of feeling
The joy, the pain, the misery
Just to prove I'm still someone,
No longer present, becoming history.
There are moments I wonder,
If my breath should simply cease
Eyes closing to eternal silence,
Falling, shattered, to pieces.
