More of My Kind

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Monday, 31st December 2018 @ 03:59:41 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

In an attempt to be defined
I searched for more of my kind
Solely cause I was so inclined
What I found was more of the same
It*s okay to just go with the flow
You just may meet someone you didn*t already know
Roll with the punches
Cause when you go it alone
They do come in bunches
I left a world of seclusion
For a world of total delusion
I walked many places
Staring at all of those strange faces
I met a girl in the city
Boy was she so pretty
She got blood from a stone
All on her own
When she left, I prayed over the throne
Before the end
I was already on the mend
Hip hop, tick tock,
Now it*s time to hide under a rock

Being unique isn/'/t all its cracked up to be. Your poem gives us a chance to learn from others mistakes...but we tend to want to make our own!
I love the last two lines! They sign the ending of the poem with a whimsical flourish, and the author leaves the stage.
Nice job James.

//// Oh wow, how cool is this? The only nonsense I see here is you thinking it`s nonsense. Horse hockey!!! This thing rocks.

Gonna read it again before I move on to the next one.

Thank you,

Timmy Dugan
